PlayStation 4 becomes the second-best-selling game console in history

Sony revealed its financial results for the second quarter and the most important figures announced by the company regarding sales of PlayStation 4, which totaled to date 102.8 million copies, which means that it surpassed the first generation of PlayStation launched by the company.

Sony announced that it had crossed the threshold of 100 million copies sold for the PS4 three months ago, and in the last quarter achieved sales of 2.8 million additional copies.

Thus, Sony puts itself in the first place superior to competitors and their leading devices such as Sega Saturn and Nintendo 64.
Considering the history of gaming consoles, the PlayStation 2 was the best-selling model with 155 million copies, so there is still more room for the fourth generation to reach, or will the PlayStation 5 be launched at the time?
The second-best-selling gaming console in history was Wii from Nintendo, where it sold 101.6 million devices, but now the PlayStation 4 has broken that figure in his favor.

In terms of financial results, Sony's revenue from games has fallen 17% and its profits from the sector have fallen 28%, showing that the life cycle of the PS4 is in its final stages before the launch of PS5 in the holiday season next                                                              year.
